My husbands employer does not pay for any of our insurance this is self pay.For the entire family.

i’m a ft student, do not have dental insurance, and am supporting myself as ideal i can. I drank a lot of soda as a kid and long story short, i have quite a few cavities. I brush, floss & waterpik daily but I guess the damage had been done. My tooth right behind my canine, or maybe it is my canine (not sure) got a cavity right in the center of it and even with me caring for it daily has grown and grown to literally become what can only be described as a hollow tooth I guess. Well this morning while eating it finally cracked, of course the half that fell away was the front part of the tooth. Now it looks like i’m missing a tooth entirely. =* ( I do not have insurance, and barely have the money to get by day to day. I work and go to school full time. I am hysterical and desperate… ANY advice, suggestions, ideas, ANYTHING anyone can offer is GREATLY appreciated. I am only 24 and i’m lost on this one. Forget smiling, even when im just speaking you can see it clear as day. =* ( I live in the greater los angeles area, can anyone point me in the right direction? I am seriously desperate.

P.S – It’s not a matter of not shelling out the money, i do not know how to give something i do not have.
P.P.S – If i had parents I can assure you I would not be putting myself through all this. When I say i’m absolutely supporting my self and on my own, i mean it’s just me. No mommy & daddy to run home to, no co-signers, no nada.

Emergency Dental Work…?
Had a cavity, did not go to the dentist. Had an abscess, did not go to the dentist. Now I have a gaping hole down to my jaw bone, (looks and feels disgusting.) I have no emergency money set aside for this but fear the pain once the Aleve wears off, Any ideas what the dentist will do and average cost of it when I get in there? Any substitute solutions? I do not want smart ass replies about brushing my teeth, I brush 3 times a day. I have weak teeth do to calcium loss during pregnancy. So real answers please.
Dave F…I did not say my tooth rotted from weak teeth, I just said what my dentist told me when I was pregnant. It is possible for people, regardless of what preventative measures they take, to have bad teeth. A small cavity, in my case, and lack of a dentist to fix it turned this tooth into a huge problem for me. I brush more frequently than most people do, but most of my dental problems arose around the time of pregnancy. Thank you for your answer.

I just got back from the dentist where I got my first tooth implant. I am not really happy, the preliminary tooth looks fine but I am concerned about that very detailed I can see the pre-formed post shining through my gum. To me it looks like I have a brown ring under my gum. Everybody tells me that this will go away and it looks like this right now because it was done 2 hours ago. The gum will rebuild and then everything will look fine. I am really desperate!

How do I get Dental Insurance when I do not have a job?
My girlfriend was laid off from her job about months ago. She was only there for about 4 months. So she was not able to get health or dental while she was there because you had to work so long. (just crap job anyways) well now I want to get her some Dental Insurance because we need to get her teeth checked up. So where do I start on this? Is it really expensive? Do you make monthly payments or is it all up front. Thanks for all the answers
