DENTAL STITCHES LEFT IN (EMERGENCY MAYBE?)?
Question by Sutaato:
Dental Stitches Left In (EMERGENCY MAYBE?)?
My mother got stitches (might have been disolvable) after getting some teeth pulled. The gum is healed and she pulled one stitch and thought that was it so she did not go back to get the stitches removed. Now a few weeks later, she says the stitches feel like there is gum grown over the stitches. The stitches aren’t visible and there’s a ridged piece of gum where the stitches were. What should she do?
She can feel the ridge where the gum has grown over the stitches. They’re still in there.
CAN I SUE MY OLD DENTIST?
Question by Jack Package:
Can I sue my old dentist?
This is what happened. A while back, I got a crown over my broken tooth. A few months later the tooth got infected and I was prescribed some antibiotics. A few months after, I got another infection on the same tooth. I called my dentist because the pain was unbearable, but he was too busy, so I went to an emergency dentist. The dentist told me my old dentist left a nerve and that’s what was getting infected. He advised I tell my dentist he has to redo the root canal at a low or no price. When I got to my dentist, he told me the infection’s so bad I will have to extract it and get an implant. I decided to go to a new dentist. When I got an x-ray, the new one told me it doesn’t have to be extracted, I just need another root canal. I do not exactly have a lot of money and my insurance could not cover it, so I passed it off for a bit. Now, my tooth’s hurting again, gum is swollen, and I feel my jaw bone deteriorating. I went to an emergency dentist who did an x-ray and found something odd. She thinks my old dentist may have left two (yes, two) files under the tooth from when he first put the crown on. I am now looking at either a root canal, or a possible extraction if it does turn out he dropped the files. The thing is, this dentist has been screwing up on other people before. He left nerves when performing root canals for my brother as well. I am not one to go to court, but I was told I should sue. I’d hate to have to pay $ 2000 for an implant because my old dentist messed up. What do you think?
By “a while back”, I mean around a year.
DOES THIS SOUND LIKE A DENTAL OR SINUS PROBLEM?
Question by a72b75c77:
Does this sound like a Dental or Sinus Problem?
I’m seven months pregnant. Six weeks ago I had severe pain in my upper left teeth, so I made an emergency dental appointment with a new dentist because I did not have a dentist. He could not find anything wrong and assumed I was not in a lot of pain because “I was not crying” (exact words from the dentist). He told me to keep taking Tylenol because it seemed to be working for me. The next day I had trouble breathing through my left nostril and green stuff starting dripping out. I spent three weeks clearing it out with saline spray, which my husband recommended. I have never had allergies or sinus problems before, but he has it all the time. Now I have a bubble that is oozing green stuff over the site of where my wisdom tooth should be. Should I try another dentist or should I try a doctor? I can’t tell if a sinus problem is causing dental problems or vice versa.
Thank you for all your answers. I have an appointment for another dentist on Tuesday so I will have to wait and see what he finds.
Q&A: ANY NATURAL TOOTHACHE REMEDIES THAT WORK?
Question by *Dixie*:
any natural toothache remedies that work?
I can’t get to an emergency dentist until the morning. I have been using anbesol, but it has no effect whatsoever on my teeth. Ice works for only a few seconds at a time. I tried putting vanilla extract on my teeth, but that doesn’t work either. Ibuprofen did not help, and this salt water stuff is not helping either.
I’m in so much pain. I do not know what to do.

My dog ran after a squarrel slamming the front door on my arm and yanking me forward to the front door causing my lip to open and my 2 front teeth to be forcefully pushed back! DOES THIS DENTAL SITUATION/VISIT SOUND LIKE AN EMERGENCY?
Question by thatguy2007:
Does this dental situation/visit sound like an emergency?
My sister was experiencing a light pain in the back of her mouth/jaw area. She scheduled a dentist appointment – went to the appointment – the dentist told her that her wisdom teeth were growing into her sinuses or sinus cavity or something of that nature. The dentist is not an oral surgeon. He claimed that the wisdom teeth must be cut out immediately and that her wisdom teeth had grown in such a way that it was an emergency. He applied only local pain killers (no gas, no pills) and proceeded to cut out four of her wisdom teeth. He granted her to drive home in a terrible frame of mind while experiencing tremendous pain. She is still experiencing sickness and severe swelling after three days. Is this a common dental practice for a situation of this nature? Or do you think that he was trying to get a paycheck? Or was this dentist acting a bit out of line given that he is not an oral surgeon? Am I overthinking the matter or is there something weird going on? Are there any web references that can help figure this out? Thanks.
