Dental Emergency
DENTAL NEEDS?
Question by wearehappy2serveu:
Dental Needs?
So my stupid boss did away with the dental portion of our health care packages at work. Now, would’nt you know it, I need dental work, and more than one procedure. I am slightly in pain, but afraid to go to an emergency dentist because of the outrageous bill I expect, I mean if the hospital emergency room can run you $ 500 and up, I can only envision what a dental emergency would cost. My question is, what should I do? I am too broke to pay out of pocket, is there a such thing as a sliding scale dentist office in NYC?
Q&A: CODEINE MAKES ME ITCH AND HYDROCODONE DOES NOT WORK. HOW DO I GET DENTIST TO PRESCRIBE OXYCODONE?
Question by Matt H:
Codeine makes me itch and hydrocodone does not work. How do I get dentist to prescribe oxycodone?
I have an emergency dentist appointment in a few hours because I has a filling fall out and my molar is absolutely rotted out and in EXTREME pain. I also have root infection and need a canal i think because oragel does nothing. I do not like codeine as it makes me itch horribly. Dentist usually wants to prescribe me Hydrocodone (Vicodin) and that doesn’t have much of an effect on me for whatever reason. I was prescribed I believe Oxycodone in the past and it worked great and absolutely subsided the pain but I do not want to become addicted so of course I use it only as directed. However, I fear that if I bluntly ask the dentist for Oxycodone he will think that I am an addict or something and he will not give it to me. I hope a dentist will answer this question or someone with experience in the situation, so how should I go about telling the dentist that I would like Oxycodone for my pain as I know it is what works ideal for me? Will he assume i am just trying to get “high” or something if I ask specifically for Percocet? Please help, thank you!

PREGNANT AND RECENTLY HAD TOOTH EXTRACTION. NOW HAVE INFECTION. EMERGENCY DRAINING MAY BE NECESSARY.?
Question by Stigmata M:
Pregnant and recently had tooth extraction. Now have infection. Emergency Draining may be necessary.?
I am 29 weeks pregnant and 7 days ago I had a tooth extraction. Everything was fine until a few days later. My chin and gums had swollen up and the pain is unbearable still. 3 days ago I went to the emergency dentist and he packed the extraction site and gave me some antibiotics. The swelling is still there and I am still in unbearable pain. I went to my normal dentist this day and she said it is very badly infected and if tomorrow it is worst and more swollen I will have to go to the Emergency Room and have it drained. Why is this? And how do they drain it?
HAVE YOU EVER GONE TO ANOTHER COUNTRY TO HAVE MEDICAL WORK DONE? DENTAL INCLUDED.?
Question by ANTHONY M:
Have you ever gone to another country to have medical work done? Dental included.?
What was your experience like? I had sedation dental last month for one tooth, a root canal, and paid over 4k. It was an emergency and they had to put me out, but I was stunned by the price. The cost in the says is getting outrageous, and pretty soon will bankrupt the average person, if it hasn’t already. Curious about overseas treatment. Thanks in advance.

NO DENTAL INSURANCE FOR MY 18 MONTH OLD? EMERGENCY!?
Question by Cade and Madden are my Sweeties!:
No dental insurance for my 18 month old? Emergency!?
My 18 month old needs to see a dentist right away, but we literally JUST took him off our dental insurance. (He’s my first, I never foresaw something like this or we wouldve never been so stupid!) We were in the ER last night after he fell off a toy and busted his right front tooth.
I need to make an appointment for him today, are there any places that are low cost or do I need to just make him an appointment at a regular pediatric dentist?
Please help! Thanks.
Sincerely,
Worried Mommy

PLEASE CAN A DENTIST HELP ME?
Question by feathergiraffe:
please can a dentist help me?
for the past 2 weeks i’ve been really suffering with a tooth abscess. i’m currently 30weeks pregnant and have been taking cocodamol and amoxcilin 500mg which hasn’t really done much. my dentist (on monday-5days ago) drilled out most of my tooth to drain off the abscess. he then put some anticeptic stuff inside and left it open like that for 3 days. during this time it was so much better. the pain was a lot superior but my lips and the side of my face are still completey numb. when i went back after the 3 days he just put a temporary filling to close it to stop food getting in but since he done that it’s all flared back up again and i’m in a lot of pain again. i’ve been to the emergency dentist, dentaline this morning where she opened it up to try to relieve some of the pressure but because she’s shut it up again i’m still in pain. i’m getting really fed up with this now and do not like keep taking pain relief and antibiotics while i’m pregnant. i’ve even tried taking the tooth out myself with pliers when i’ve got myself in such a say with the pain. please help!!
ARE THERE ANY DENTISTS IN ASPEN, CO WHO WILL TAKE A NEW PATIENT, CASH, FOR AN EMERGENCY TOOTHACHE?
Question by pair-a-docs:
Are there any dentists in Aspen, CO who will take a new patient, cash, for an emergency toothache?
Am working in the area but will be leaving at the end of the month. Have a toothache that will require either filling or extraction, and will not be able to return to my home dentist soon enough to deal with this. Any recommendations?
