Dental Emergency

In antibiotics from dentist how do i get rid of pain?
Went to dentist emergency as i was (still am) in a lot of pain not my regular one as i couldnt wait for the appointment so saw another one in the same practice, they took xrays and i told her i could feel something poking out of my gum at the back like a tooth, i had a tooth extracted out in the same area a month ago. She said it wasnt a tooth but my bone? gave it a name but i cant remember, she said that it hadnt healed proper (even thou its been a month?) and gave me metronidazole tablets to take, asked her about painkillers she said ibro/para said they dont work and yet i wasnt given any other painkilers Ive been awake most of the nite with this pain, taken too many painkillers ibro/para/co-codomol nothing is working only thing that relieves it for 2 mins is cold water but then im going to have to sit by the sink all day Anyone else had this and can advocate something? Ive done salt water also.
Pain is quite severe down the side of my face that the bone is protuding and also giving in earache also same side
Hope its not as according to the net the only thing to help with the pain is for the dentist to pack it with gauze? only thing she done is xrays and filled out a scrip, cant even say it coz she was in a rush coz i was called half hr early as someone hadnt turned up!
thanks for answering, still in extreme pain phoned dentist answer machine (weekend) and got told to ring nhs direct, done that they told me to phone dentist Been down hospital i dont like too but in so much pain told them im taking co-codomol, paracetemol, ibro etc they aint working they give me co-codomol 500 im already taking them!!! Got told i have to keep taking them to build up the strength (?) i havent been able to take my antibiotics in too much pain cant eat and i need to eat to take them Crying im in so much pain, worse thing is i went to the dentist n im still in pain what if they do nothing tmrw what then?
take 2 co-codomol to sit in pain for 4 hrs before i can take another 2, how is that pain relief!!??
